 Points to remember when selecting Au pairs: -

1) Review the agency’s qualification before selecting au pair’s

Do not just put your children at risk by selecting the cheap rate au pairs. Verification of the criminal records and medical is also the main things to be check. The Agency of au pairs should be registered to DOS (Department of State).

2) Give the time to read carefully the application and re-check it.

Agency will send you the application of the au pairs with details of them. Check that application and read it carefully. Au pairs should match some qualities like personality, English speaking, Driving skills and childcare experience.

3)      Read the mid lines of the letter which au pair sends to the host family.

Every au pair writes a message to her approaching host parent and her message can be very revealing flat before you communicate to the au pair. Her letter provides you a sense of her capability to direct herself in English and what gentle personality she has. What are her explanations for parting her home? If the au pair’s message articulates optimistic speeches about herself, her family and about children overall and then you can proceed towards the rest of the application. If the message does not have these features, bounce it and change onto the next application. 

4) Do conduct the phone interview with the selected au pairs.

It is necessary to call the au pair in which you are interested to select. The phone call reveals your half work about the status of the au pair. There are many host moms I have heard from them that they do not get the time to call the au pairs and they simply emailed the girl many times and have that confident that they are the selected “one”. These create the problem and are asking to rematch early as the girl arrives. At phone call you can ask her specific questions that simply represent the situations going to occur. Her answer will give you a way into her personality, traditional alterations and her skill to think rapidly on her bases. If you like the response of the girl than you may call her multiple times before you make any decision minimum three to four times to satisfy ourselves.
